The Veneto
area was the perfect place to develop a wine venture. Bartolomeo’s sons, Luca and Matteo, were very enthusiastic about the achievements by winegrowers supported by the family, and decided to turn the family’s passion into a business. The MONTEOTTI
wine company was established in 1862.
Soave
was probably the most iconic wine produced by MONTEOTTI
at that time. This dry white made from the local grape variety, Garganega, is grown around the city of Verona and since 2001 has been recognised as a Denominazione di Origine Controllata (DOC).
The following generation, led by Massimo Monteotti, decided to extend the range by adding internationaly acclaimed Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay, along with reds, including Bardolino and Valpolicella, and the now famous sparkling wine, Prosecco.
